There
are few things in the video gamer and geek worlds than the rumors
surrounding the release dates of the new XBox and Playstation
platforms. It was not that long ago when the Box 360 and Playstation
3 were brand-new and blowing the minds of everyone that had the
pleasure to own or play one. In fact, both companies have said that
video games have not yet been able to completely master and use the
consoles to their largest capabilities yet. So, although the future
of the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 seem to still have their best and
greatest days ahead of them, there is still constant buzz surrounding
the new consoles- which are expected to be released in the
near-future- although neither Microsoft (which manufactures the XBox
360) or Sony (which manufactures the Playstation 3) have confirmed
concrete deadlines for the release of the next generation of video
game consoles. The internet is aflutter with news and updates
regarding the timelines for both consoles, and i is making geeks chmp
at the bit for the latest news they can use. All we know, is that as
everyday passes, the day is coming nearer. Here are some of the
rumors that have been floating around in regards to both of the
consoles:
XBox
720 (Or, It May Have A Different Name By The Time It Is Released
Expected
release date: Late-2013/ Early-2014
The
general consensus is that the new XBox console will be released just
in time for Christmas of 2013, although unseen delays could occur
that would push the timeline back. There is a ton of mystery
surrounding the development of the new XBox consult, which even keeps
the name only in speculation mode. It is generally believed that it
will be called the XBox 720, with the XBox Infinity in a close
second. The rumors started because news leaked that Microsoft was
looking into buying a domain for a new website with those names.
Playstation
4
Expected
release date: Late-2013/ Early-2014
Of
course, both consoles are going to be released right at the same
time! It would not make sense any other way. The new generation of
the Playstation console seems very intriguing because the Playstation
3 has still not reached its peak. It seems everyday somebody is
learning something new about the capabilities of the PS3 console. Who
knows what the future just might hold for the PS4. Only time will
tell, in the end.
