Construction site accidents are very rare, but they can happen. Somebody can get hurt or end up in a hospital. So, here I will talk about the most common construction site accidents. Keep in mind that this kind of accidents may cost you your life, so watch out.

• Ladders

Ladders are the most common and unusual objects with which you can hurt yourself. These kinds of injuries are not so dangerous, and the most common injury is if you slip and cut yourself on the ladder in the process of falling. But sometimes these injuries can be very dangerous. Sometimes ladders are too high and if you fall, you’ll probably end up with some broken bone in a hospital. Because the person who uses ladders must put them on a safe distance from the wall and if a person who is using ladders caries a whole lot of weight, he must beware not to be brought down by gravity and he or she should have someone over to help with the weight and also with the ladders. • Falling objects

Another very usual type of accident is connected to falling objects. When I say falling objects, I don’t think about pencils and screws falling from the second and third floor, I mean big and heavy objects like bricks and handcart filled up with cement. Those are objects that can hurt you pretty bad. And these are just two objects – there are plenty more that may cost you your life. Of course, the weight of the falling object and where it falls from (2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th floor…) can tell you how bad it is going to be if it hits you.

• If you are afraid of heights, then this is it

Falling from high altitudes is one of many problems. Most likely, humans are afraid of heights, and if you are not, you are taking this thing too facetiously and you think that nothing can happen, but that is wrong. The third most common construction site accident is just that – falling from big heights. Sometimes the gear is not assembled as is supposed to be, or people are just too stubborn and they don’t want to respect all safety measures and because of that this stuff happens. In the end, people get hurt for no good reason. Every worker on the construction site that goes above ground must go through safety protocols and learn the basics about everything that he or she needs to know for his or her own safety.

• Power tools

On construction sites, there is always some equipment that you must use in the process of making a new building. This equipment is very dangerous and only a trained person is supposed to use it. If a person who uses power tools does not know the right way of using them, this can lead to injuries, not only to him or her, but also to the people around, if the machine that we are talking about is big enough to hurt someone. Safety equipment is also one of the most important things when using power tools, or when you are near them, and every worker must have it and use it in a proper way.

• “Wet and slippery” floors

Construction sites are always crowed with people and lots of equipment. When that is the case, there is always a possibility that someone doesn’t see that piece of wood on floor, or that brick, or cable, or anything else that can make the floor in front of you too “slippery” for you to walk on. So, you must be very careful not to fall and hurt yourself or someone else that was in your way. The best precaution you should take to stop this from happening is to have the kind of organization that allows you and your coworkers to put their equipment on a safe place, and that is not the ground.

Of course, there are safety precautions to stop that, paperwork that must be done, safety rules that must be established to prevent these accidents from happening.
