There are two types of people in this world.  No.  Not men and women but those who like cold and those who don’t.  If you are of the breed that favours the cold weather, you are probably already counting the days until you can get out in the elements and be that manly kind of man you are inside.

If you are in one of those places where living up to your wintry ideals is a real possibility, you also know that winter is a serious business.  Getting out in the elements can be fun but going out unprepared can reap serious consequences for you.  Winter clothes require serious consideration.

You are going out to face the world’s elements and you need to prepare.  Choosing the right type of outerwear is probably the most important decision you can make.

Deciding on the right type of coat really depends on a few factors.  What you plan to do when you are outside in the weather and how much time you plan to spend there.  If your outside activities are going to be limited to going from the car to the house and back, then your choice will not be so important.  However if you plan to spend extended amounts of time outside, then the choice you make could mean your health and overall wellbeing.

Think about the weather you are going to have.  Style should not be first in your choice of an outer coat.  Some coats have a very stylish look but will not hold up well in the harsher weather.  If you are in a location where your weather conditions can become unforgiving, that stylish coat will be nothing more than a tease in protecting you.
