Designs for Brand New Cars: Thinking on Terms of Practicality

If you need a new car, you have a wide variety of designs to choose from. The question is what type of car do you want? When choosing from the different designs, you need to think about your family needs.

The Size of the Family

Just because you want a small sports car, does not mean that it will suit your family. Sports cars are flashy but not practical. They have very little boot space – if any if you buy a hard-top convertible – and less seats. Larger families will need larger cars and there are seven-seater vehicles available.

Of course, there is the option to have two cars. A small sports car could be an option if you want something for while the children are away. However, this is only possible if you have the budget available.

The Boot Space

As mentioned above, small sports cars have little boot space. Hard-top convertibles are designed so that the roof closes inside the boot, which means that there is no space for luggage. This is difficult for one person travelling, let alone two, three or four. At the same time, seven-seater vehicles have little boot space, which is something to think about.

Thinking about the size of the boot will also become a factor in choose car designs. Should you opt for a hatchback? Will a saloon car be better? This depends on the amount of travelling that you do with family and whether you use the car for long journeys.

The Car Tax and Fuel Consumption

The cost of running cars is increasing dramatically. Fuel prices continually rise, car tax is high for some vehicles and the cost of insurance needs to be considered. This leads to having to think about the design of the car to save money in the long term. If you buy a gas guzzler car, you will end up paying more in car tax – you could save hundreds each year by buying smaller hybrid cars.

A flashy design may be great but you will also need to think about the amount of fuel it will use. Buying a hybrid car will mean that you spend less money on fuel, saving you thousands. On top of that, insurance costs are usually much lower for hybrid cars since the speed you drive at will be lower so there is a lower risk.

Electric Mirrors vs. Manual Ones

There are benefits to having electric wing mirrors. You will be able to change the positioning without moving too much. This means you can change the positioning to parallel park much easier. However, if something damages the wing mirrors, they cost much more to replace. This is because you will usually need to hire someone to fix the new mirror for you. By having manual mirrors, you could save hundreds since you can easily fix them yourself.

There are many designs available for cars. Some look amazing and will leave your friends and family members jealous. However, you need to think about the people who will be driving with you. If you live on your own, opting for a sports car with the newest styles will be a possibility but with a large family one is not practical.
