5 Affordable Gifts for the Man in Your Life

It’s that time of year again! The holidays are just around the corner. If you’re stumped on what to buy for that special guy in your life, there are several great options that he’s sure to love that are also surprisingly easy on your pocketbook.
  • Men’s stainless steel rings: Jewelry for men is becoming increasingly more popular each year, and can be remarkably affordable. Men’s stainless steel rings, for example, come in a variety of styles and often run under $20. Choose from traditional polished designs in natural stainless steel or more contemporary and trendy black stainless steel men’s rings. Select a plain design or an intricate carved pattern based on your guy’s personal tastes - the possibilities are practically endless. Shop online to find the broadest selection of men’s stainless steel rings at the best prices.
  • LED flashlight: Never underestimate the amount of excitement one little flashlight can bring! It may be hard to understand for most women, but there’s something about flashlights that men just love. The new LED versions are causing quite a buzz in the flashlight world because of the advantages they have over older models: they consume less energy, produce a brighter light and the LED bulb far outlasts the old incandescent style. You’ll find several different brands in sporting goods stores, and many will cost less than $20.
  • Cocktail glasses: If your man enjoys an adult beverage on occasion, a stylish set of cocktail glasses makes a great gift. Look for either Old Fashioned glasses or whiskey tumblers, both of which are a little more masculine looking than other types of glasses. If your man entertains on occasion, look for a set of 6 or 8. If he’s not a party giver, a set of 4 should do the trick. You can find a wide selection at most department stores for less than $30.
  • PJ’s: No matter how well you think you know your guy, buying clothes for him is probably challenging. It’s hard to know whether he truly likes that sweater you bought him last year or whether he just wears it once every few months to spare your feelings. If you really want to buy him something wearable, try a comfy pair of PJ’s instead. Just think of the advantages over other items of clothing: they’re inexpensive, easy to fit and he’ll be much more likely to wear them in the privacy of his own bedroom. Find all kinds of PJ’s, many at very reasonable prices, in the men’s section of your local department store.
  • Game tickets:  If your guy is a sports fan, he’s sure to love this gift! It’s great if you can afford season tickets so he can see his favorite team in action on a regular basis, but even tickets to a single game will be a welcome stocking stuffer. Make sure to include at least two tickets so he can take you or a buddy.
  • Nostalgic T-shirt: Do you know what his favorite band was in high school? Maybe he’s mentioned a TV show he watched as a kid or a particular movie he liked years ago. Whatever his favorites were, you’ll likely be able to find nostalgic T-shirts that commemorate them online, usually for less than $30.
  • A homemade scrapbook: If you’re crafty, create a scrapbook for your special guy. Include photos, ticket stubs from a concert you saw together, paper napkins from your favorite cocktail lounge and any other bits and pieces you can collect that will remind him of you and the great times you’ve had together.

The holidays don’t have to cost a fortune to be memorable. The more thoughtful the gift, the more likely your man is to treasure it – no matter how humble the cost.
