Janet Echelman makes outstanding flying stringed sculptures by utilizing old fashioned net-weaving methods, she mastered during her Fulbright lectureship in India right from local fisherman. Her wonderful sculptural installations are usually strung between buildings and poles, resembling the aurora borealis during the night. To build her challenging creations, Echelman works together with a group of aeronautical as well as mechanical engineers.
