The Star Wars Game You Always Dreamed Of

The computer game industry has given us a few amazing Star Wars games (besides some absolutely awful ones) but I don’t believe any of them ever appeared quite as stunning as this. Designed by Arthur Nishimoto of the University of Illinois at Chicago, this Fleet Commander game is the Star Wars game a lot of fans have dreamed of. He designed this Fleet Commander game as a scholar project for the TacTile multi-touch -screen display. So in essence, Nishimoto has made what appears to be the awesomest, most amusing, multiplayer Star Wars game of all time.

Primary ships have shining circles round them; touching one and sliding across the screen applies it a course on which to move. The massive ship will then, obviously, auto-attack when in target range. The smaller ships like X-Wings and TIE Fighters appear to be automatically controlled also, likely launched from capital ships to swarm one another and the closest large target. The capital ships appear to have got additional options, as touching their ring causes a ring of smaller buttons to appear inside, expected consisting of tactical alternatives you'll be able to assign to the vessel.
Even more astonishing is that, it is multiplayer. As there are multiple capital ships, multiple local participants can take charge of them, as you are able to see in the video.
