The idea is good , but not here in Russia, it would simply be carried away : ) And on the other hand ,
Why should people pay for something to sit down to rest , is it any commercial park ?
I thought this must have been a hoax.. but! a little googling let me to find out its serious! i find it highly amusing ! check out the vid http://www.treehugger.com/files/2010/07/pay-and-sit-park-bench-libertarian-dream.php you can sit for about a minute then you must go hahaha highly amusing, i would get my blanket and sit on the grass watching ppl pay to sit for a minute hahaha brilliant!!
agreed, this is nothing close to art. this is a fat waste of time, both on the part of the person that constructed it, and on the part of every single person who's had a few minutes taken away from their life viewing it. Thank you internet, that's a little bit of my life i'll never get back.
This is ridiculous. I would personally wait till its dark and go ahead and smash it with a sledgehammer, its just and insult. Also pay toilets are devices of cruelty, but this really takes it to another level.
Pay toilets, pay benches, pay parking, pay everything. Wherever did people get the idea life should be free. Unsafe for the kiddies running around, then stop letting them run around annoying everyone. Keep the brats under control. Its as much art as a bunch of colored pigments applied to a surface is, or chipping away at a perfectly good stone to make it look like on of us. Come to think of it it is a waste of time, like all art.
I would take a large crap on that thing and make sure to get some of it in the change area so they have a nice gift waiting for them when they come to collect the money.
Hilarious. Why is everyone so up in arms saying they're going to vandalise it? It's a piece of art. Even if it was serious no one said you had to sit on it. If someone's willing to pay the toll so be it if you don't wanna sit somewhere else you chincy bastards.
If it's real, which I doubt. Then I'd assume it wouldn't be cost effective. Surely the cost of the bench and paying someone to collect the money would defeat the point of it?
For all those people wondering what happens when the timer runs out, it beeps about 10 seconds before the spikes go back up. That gives you enough time to pick up all your stuff and get up.
Anyone who says its not art is fucking stupid. Its supposed to make you think; "Yeah, those fuckers, what'll they charge us for next!?" I mean, how could you not get that?
What an asinine way to take that much more money out of people's pockets. As a piece of art, this is a waste of time and resources at best. As a serious application, it seems like yet another contraption based on taking money out of your pocket, and in turn conditioning you for a life of work with no rest. This is a small start to a bigger picture. You're only allowed to sit for a minute, and then you are forced to either pay more for a longer rest, or get up and go back to work.
Stupid. Why don't you people apply this kind of creativity to HELP, not HINDER mankind?
I'd recycle the coins from the coin box into my own pocket, I'd recycle the coin box into my own limited edition letter box, I'd recycle the spikes for something as yet to be determined, and I'd recycle the seat for use in my own yard...
Ass Teasing....................
ReplyDeleteonly in russia...
ReplyDeletei wonder how long they stay down...that'd be a nasty surprise
ReplyDeleteIs it on a timer if so that would suck to be on it when it went back up
ReplyDeleteput a board over the spikes
ReplyDeleteit's not a good idea anywhere. i would sit right next to this.
ReplyDeleteSurely this is a hoax>
ReplyDeleteAnd I suppose everyone you know just carries boards around.
ReplyDeleteLike George Harrison once said, "...if you try to sit, I'll tax your seat."
ReplyDeletejob tvyodemaj!
ReplyDeleteyou can still sit on the top edge :)
ReplyDeleteTerrible idea
ReplyDeleteSo you sit on your briefcase. When rested, you vandalize the damn bench.
ReplyDeleteWait, what happens when your time runs out?!
ReplyDeleteSit on the corner of the bench? Place something flat & of a hard nature over the spikes (such as a textbook, board, etc)?
ReplyDeleteThe only way they could ever possibly make this work is to make it watertight, with no way around it.
Dumbass Russians.
Ha! that doesnt work on me. I'm a teenager, and as so I rest my ass on the guardrail and my feet on the spikes^^
ReplyDeleteno to most of you, that isnt what you do, you pay the fucking toll, use your fucking seat, and shut the fuck up
ReplyDeleteThis is an art installation, not a serious idea for benches..
ReplyDeleteThat's for the people who did not get that.
i bet a masochist had no problem sitting there...
ReplyDeleteComing to America soon! Sponsored by Google, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Pizza Hut, etc.

we have lots of free garden chairs in india...... come take some. lol!
ReplyDeleteWhoever believes some little spikes in a park bench is "art," you're a fool.
ReplyDeleteIs there a time limit when the spikes will pop back out and spike the person in the ass?
ReplyDeleteHave to say, in a park with a good possibility of kids running about that looks awfully safe.
ReplyDeleteGreat, as if the homeless didn't have it hard enough already.
ReplyDeleteIn Soviet Russia, bench pokes on *you*...
ReplyDeleteill take a garden chair

ReplyDeleteThis is ridiculous. I would personally wait till its dark and go ahead and smash it with a sledgehammer, its just and insult. Also pay toilets are devices of cruelty, but this really takes it to another level.
ReplyDeleteIt's to keep the bums from sleeping on the bench.

ReplyDeleteGreedy Bastards
ReplyDeleteThis is an art piece... it's not serious nor is it meant to be.
ReplyDeleteIt's an art piece by Designer Fabian Brunsing
ReplyDeleteHilarious. Why is everyone so up in arms saying they're going to vandalise it? It's a piece of art. Even if it was serious no one said you had to sit on it. If someone's willing to pay the toll so be it if you don't wanna sit somewhere else you chincy bastards.

ReplyDeleteIt's probably a sculpture and if it's not...im sure it's to deter the homeless from sleeping in the park.

ReplyDeleteIt is art....
ReplyDeleteBut if it was for real, I'd recycle.
I'd recycle the coins from the coin box into my own pocket, I'd recycle the coin box into my own limited edition letter box, I'd recycle the spikes for something as yet to be determined, and I'd recycle the seat for use in my own yard...
These spikes are to keep homeless people from sleeping on the bench.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to a human world...
This is so the homeless can't sleep on them, it's a cold, mean and uncaring thing to do to a human being.
