Sneak Preview of Mobile World Congress 2013

Fira Gran Via, Barcelona, Spain will be a hive of activity between 25th and 28th February with the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2013. The venue can accommodate 35,000 company stalls and millions of visitors at a time. Manufacturers of mobile devices to applications, online security products to network providers; all types of industries related to mobile devices will be showcased at MWC 2013.
For those who are interested in hearing some of the heads of the mobile industry speak at the Congress you have a treat in store. A few of the keynote speakers are Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop, AT&T President and CEO Randall Stephenson, Chief Executive of Vodafone Vittorio Colao, NTT DOCOMO President & CEO Kaoru Kato, among other equally big players in the mobile handset, networking and apps industries.

No shortage of variety
Leading manufacturers of tablets and smartphones will provide a first look at some of the gizmos to be launched this year. Samsung will be launching multiple products – tablets like Galaxy Note 8.0, Galaxy Tab 3, and the Galaxy S4 smartphone. LG will be showing off its Optimus G2 smartphone. The upcoming HTC M7, going by previews, seems to be similar to Apple’s iPhone5 and will be launched at the Congress. The Motorola’s X Phone is going to be a surprising entry this year. It is the first smartphone that will be launched by the company after Google’s takeover. A lot more mobile phones and tablets to suit different preferences will make their first public appearance in February 2013. 

For anyone interested in legal matters and statutory regulations pertaining to mobile devices and network connectivity, there are separate stalls where you can obtain the information. Experts in the field of legal procedures, certification and standardization methods will be present at MWC 2013.  

There will be a separate section at the venue for Near Field Communication enabled mobile handsets as well as GSMA network providers’ stalls. Another section will give visitors the pleasure of knowing more about mobile apps that work on different operating systems. With more than 200 app developers and exhibitors, it will be a mammoth task to know everything in just four days so you can plan your visit in advance. 

The latest cloud technology that provides speedier wireless connectivity and mass storage capacity on a cloud will also have a special stall at the Congress. Vendors providing Wi-Fi Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) Migration, Wi-Fi Heterogeneous Network Operators, and Wi-Fi Roaming services will make their presence felt too.
